Anti-virus programs are an essential tool for protecting your Windows system from malware, which is particularly crucial on business systems with important data. If you're installing a new antivirus program, you'll need to make sure AVG Anti-virus is completely uninstalled first. Multiple antivirus programs will interfere with each other if they're installed on the same system. AVG provides both a standard uninstaller and a downloadable removal tool. The removal tool works with both the free and business editions of AVG.
Control Panel
2.
Click 'Uninstall a Program' under Programs in the Control Panel window.
3.
Select the 'AVG' program in the list and click the 'Uninstall' button on the toolbar.
4.
Click the 'Uninstall' button in the Repair and Uninstall Options window that appears.
6.
Restart your system after the uninstallation completes. Click 'Restart Now' to restart immediately or click 'Restart Later,' save your work and then restart your system.
Removal Tool
1.
Open the AVG tools download page (see link in Resources) and download the AVG Remover tool.
2.
Save your work in all open programs. Your PC may reboot several times during the removal process.
3.
Double-click the downloaded 'AVG Remover' EXE file on your system and click 'Yes' to run the removal tool.
Warning
Antivirus programs protect your system from malware -- be sure to install another antivirus program after uninstalling AVG.
